February 24, 2026 - Notice of Bridge Closures. Effective immediately, both Basso Bridge and Old La Grange Bridge are closed to the public. Recent inspections identified critical maintenance needs at both locations. Due to potential safety risks, the bridges will remain closed until necessary repairs are completed. Subject: PUBLIC REVIEW PROCESS AND PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE FOR THE 2026-2027 OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE GRANTS FOR FRANK RAINES AND LA GRANGE OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLE PARKS
The Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation Department will be submitting grants for the Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Recreation Division for Frank Raines and La Grange OHV Parks. We would like to give the public an opportunity to review the grants and provide comments. The Department of Parks and Recreation will be submitting a Ground Operations grant on behalf of Frank Raines and La Grange Regional Parks. According to the Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program Regulations:
The Applicant shall undertake a public review process of their application and complete the Public Review Process.

All preliminary applications shall be available on the Division Website (www.ohv.parks.ca.gov) the day following the preliminary application deadline for public review and comment.

Applicant shall notify the public of the opportunity to review and comment on the Preliminary Application no sooner than the start of the current Grants Cycle and no later than the first Tuesday following the first Monday in March. The notice shall include instructions for accessing the Division Website for Application review and public comments. Public notification efforts shall include at least one of the following:

Notice mailed and/or emailed to those persons the Applicant determines most likely to have an interest in or be affected by the Application, and to those who have requested notice,

Publication on Applicant’s website,
-
Publication in local newspaper,
-
News release,
-
Public meeting or hearing conducted by the Applicant, held either in-person or virtual.

Public comments shall be submitted to the Applicant and the OHMVR Division.

Public comments shall be received no later than 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time on the first Monday in May.
The Public Notice will be posted at www.stancountyparks.com. The information will provide a link to the OHMVR site where the applications will be posted. The applications for the grant can be downloaded from www.ohv.parks.ca.gov. The deadline for submitting the preliminary grant is March 2, 2026.

NOTICE: Banding Requirements & Quarantine Procedures for all Vessels– Effective October 1st, 2025
Beginning Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 all vessels launching at Modesto & Woodward Reservoirs must adhere to updated banding and quarantine procedures to prevent the spread of invasive mussel species.
Inspection & Banding Requirements:

Appointments are available at both Modesto and Woodward Reservoirs 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 7 days a week.

30-Day Yellow Bands and Daily Blue Bands will be available during these hours only.

All boats must be Clean, Drained, and Dry to qualify for inspection and banding.

A valid Quagga Mussel Stamp is required for each vessel.

4/7/2025: SSJID has notified us that the body-to-water contact restriction at Woodward Reservoir has been lifted. However, please be advised that boat launches remain closed at this time. We encourage all visitors to practice safe water activities and wear life jackets for your safety.
